Yes. All Mazda3 Hatchback models feature our SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter (L) engine. In Mazda3 2.5 S models, the standard engine offers up to 186 horsepower (hp) and 186 lb-ft torque. Mazda3 Hatchback 2.5 Turbo models add a Dynamic Pressure turbocharger that boosts output to 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque when using recommended premium fuel. Mazda3 2.5 S Premium Hatchback models feature a SKYACTIV®-MT 6-Speed Manual Transmission. All other Mazda3 Hatchback models feature a SKYACTIV®-Drive 6-Speed Automatic Transmission with manual-shift mode and Sport mode.

i-Activ AWD® provides functionality beyond that of a typical 4WD or AWD system. Unlike basic AWD systems that react to a spinning wheel, i-Activ AWD is always engaged and proactively monitors vehicle dynamics data in real-time to watch for variations in wheel loads that a driver may not notice. The system then automatically controls the distribution of torque to provide predictable handling when driving on unpaved roads or in difficult conditions.
All other Mazda3 2.5 S Hatchback models have Front Wheel Drive (FWD) drivetrains to provide predictable handling and good fuel economy in most normal driving conditions.
The Mazda3 Hatchback offers 20.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, enough for about six carry-on suitcases, two to three full-size golf bags, or roughly 15 bags of groceries. That's nearly 7 cu ft more than the Mazda3 Sedan's 13.2 cu ft of trunk space. For larger or longer items, the 60/40 split-folding rear seatbacks let you expand the cargo area even further, and the wide hatch opening makes bulky items easier to load.
